The basics are:

Click in front of the text you wish to copy.  Drag the cursor down to the end of the text you want to copy.

Select "Edit" from the menu bar and then "Copy," OR use the keyboard short cut command by typing CTRL C.

Then go to the place you want to paste your text, click on the screen, and go to the "Edit" menu again, and select "Paste" OR use the keyboard short cut command CTRL V.
